Our 2023 season begins on March 24th and we’re ready and waiting to reopen the gates!

We’ve got so much planned for this year and we can’t wait to show you all the new additions we’ve been working hard on over the winter.

2023 season launch on March 24th

After a phenomenal season last year, we are expecting to welcome a bumper crowd for our reopening weekend on March 24th. Make sure to get down to the farm on time as we’ll be handing out a free goodie bag to our first 100 visitors of the new season!

2023 will see a change to our opening days. Throughout the season we will be generally open from 10am to 5pm every Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. We’ll also be open every day during our main special events such as Easter, Halloween and Christmas, and during school holidays. For more details click here.

Our tickets are now on sale here and prices start at £8.95 per child and £9.95 per adult. You can save money (and avoid disappointment) by booking online in advance of your visit. We also have season tickets and gift cards available.

New for 2023

We’ve continued to update and enhance our facilities and attractions during the winter. Our ongoing programme of investment will see further changes at the farm throughout the year.

Visitors will notice a huge new marquee here at Monk Park Farm. It will provide some much-needed space for indoor activities when the weather is not at its best, as well as ample seating to enjoy your lunch or just take a break.

You’ll also notice lots of new signage around the site to make the farm more educational and informative.

Lambing and bottle feeding

All our animal feeding stations have been revamped, maintained and made more accessible. And with our lambing season due to begin at the end of March, we have extended our bottle-feeding area to make it bigger and more accessible. Keep an eye out for dates nearer the time of our bottle feeding sessions.

We’re also expecting to welcome lots of other cute new babies to our farm family including bunnies, kids, piglets, chicks and cria (baby alpaca). We’re hoping to give our visitors the chance to have a cuddle with some of them too.

Rides, attractions and facilities

We’ve still got all the great rides, attractions and facilities that we had last year and that our visitors love, including:

  • Giant air bouncers
  • Mini train ride
  • Extended petting barn
  • Revamped pond and second play area
  • Wheelchair and pushchair friendly paths
  • Animal information boards and audio descriptions
  • Barrel rides
  • Electric go karts
  • Massive play park and sand pit
  • Hundreds of animals including rare breeds
  • Yummy food and drink at the Hungry Monk Café

Easter

Easter at Monk Park Farm runs from Saturday 1st April to Monday April 17th and there’ll be loads of fun themed activities for everyone. Among the highlights will be the return of our Giant Easter Egg Hunt, which was a huge hit with visitors of all ages last year.

We’re also delighted to be hosting a Vintage Engine and Tractor Display on Easter Sunday.

Don’t forget to book now for Easter as we sold out last year and with even bigger and better celebrations planned this year we would hate for you to miss out!

The Coronation

Following on from our fantastic jubilee celebrations last year, Monk Park Farm will be turning red, white and blue once again for the coronation of King Charles III in June. Our team will be dressing up in their finery and there’ll be a picnic in the park with a big screen and DJ.

We’re expecting another sell-out bank holiday weekend, so make sure to book your tickets early to avoid disappointment!

Summer holidays

We’ll be open throughout the school summer holidays offering a fantastic day out for families living in Yorkshire or visiting the area. We’re hoping for a repeat of last year’s glorious weather, although our animals could do without the heatwave!

Halloween

Halloween celebrations during 2022 season at Monk Park Farm

Our Halloween Spooktacular will take place through most of October and will build on the success of last year’s popular event. Plans are yet to be finalised but there are sure to be a number of pumpkins involved! Keep a look out for details later in the year.

Christmas

We are pleased to say that Father Christmas and his team of Farm Elves will be returning to Monk Park Farm in 2023 after the success of our first ever Christmas Experience on the farm last year. As well as the usual farm activities there will be many more for this merry occasion, and we’ll be announcing our plans nearer the time. We’ll also once again be running special days for children, teens and adults with autism, sensory processing disorders and other cognitive disabilities.

Food and drink

Visitors to Monk Park Farm are welcome to bring their own food and drink to enjoy in our outdoor and indoor picnic areas. We also offer hot and cold food and refreshments at our on-site Hungry Monk Café.

The Hungry Monk team will be offering a refreshed menu for 2023, featuring our customers’ favourites as well as some new additions. They will also be providing lots of treats and themed food for our special events, as well as hot or cold spreads for birthday parties and other celebrations.

The café can also cater for different dietary requirements including vegan and gluten free options.

Children’s birthday parties

We’re delighted to offer children’s birthday parties in 2023. Each package offers full access to our farm and all the attractions such as the mini train ride and barrel ride, play areas and sandpit, giant bouncy pillows, and lots more. Children will have the chance to meet and feed the animals too, and enjoy food and games in our brand-new party room.

We never book more than two parties on one day to ensure we focus on making birthday memories your child will never forget!

School and group visits

We can’t wait to welcome schools and groups during 2023 to have a tour of our farm to find out more about our animals. There’s so much to learn and you might even get to have a cuddle with some of our furry friends!

Why not arrange an educational day out with us? Find out more by heading to our school and group visits page.

Community partnerships

We’ll be continuing to develop and nurture our friendships with organisations in our local community as well as supporting a range of events in Thirsk and North Yorkshire. Look out for our team next time you’re at a local show or a Christmas lights switch-on!
