We are always looking for seasonal team members to help out on the farm. There are a range of roles, from car park attendant, front of house greeters, shop/retail roles, cleaners, animal welfare assistants. We also need people to cut grass, and help out on site with on-going maintenance.

Seasonal Front of House Assistant

The Seasonal Front of House Assistants will be part of a dedicated and passionate team who strive to provide the best visitor experience. You will play a crucial role ensuring visitors attending the park receive a positive and welcoming experience.

Main Responsibilities
  • Welcoming guests on admissions, processing entry tickets and cash handling.
  • Operating our classically restored train ride.
  • Making sure the park is always presentable. Litter picking, emptying bins and general cleaning duties.
  • Retail assistance within our gift and ice cream shop.
  • Assist with selling seasonal tickets.
  • Coordinating the Car Parking on busy days.
  • Assist visitors with answering questions, in particular sharing what daily activities are happening on that day.
  • Helping with the set up and delivery of seasonal events and activities.
Personal Qualities
  • Have strong verbal communication and able to interact with both visitors and staff.
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to a changing working environment
  • Commitment to the values and vision of the farm.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and to take initiative

Hours:

Seasonal Petting Barn Assistant

The Seasonal Petting Barn Assistants will be part of a dedicated and passionate team who strive to provide the best animal welfare care and visitor experience. You will play a crucial role ensuring visitors attending the park receive a positive and welcoming experience.
The Petting Barn is one of the main attractions at Monk Park farm, with visitors getting up close and personal to our farm animals.

More Details
Main Responsibilities
  • Care for Monk Park Farm’s livestock by completing our daily checklists; including feeding, watering, cleaning out, bedding up, bottle washing and the general well-being of our animals in our very popular indoor Petting Barn.
  • Assists in safe handling of animals, moving the animals in and out of the petting barn.
  • Participating in giving an exciting guinea pig handling sessions with our visitors.
  • Report any ill health or unusual animal behaviour to your Animal Barn Supervisor.
  • Making sure the barn is presentable and tidy throughout the day. Hand washing facilities are replenished, and the indoor area is maintained to a high cleaning standard.
  • To be polite and friendly to all visitors and work colleagues to make our visitors feel welcome, thereby ensuring the quality of the visitors’ experience on that day.
  • Maintain the highest standards of practice as advised by the Health & Safety Executive to protect the public from any animal related diseases.
