Ey Up! Welcome to Monk Park Farm
Monk Park Farm is an award-winning, family-run farm attraction set across 84 acres of beautiful North Yorkshire countryside.
Home to hundreds of friendly animals, including our popular wallaby walkthrough, Highland cows, pigs, goats, sheep, rabbits and guinea pigs, we’re passionate about giving families the chance to get closer to animals and nature.
Recently accepted for a Zoo Licence, we’re proud of the high standards of animal care and welfare we provide across the farm, ensuring our animals receive the very best care while creating memorable experiences for our visitors.
As well as meeting the animals, families can enjoy indoor and outdoor play areas, our popular barrel ride, seasonal events and adventures, plus Little Thirsk – our indoor role-play village inspired by our local market town of Thirsk. Here, children can let their imaginations run wild as they explore familiar shops, businesses and community spaces inspired by the town we call home.
Whether you’re hand-feeding the animals, hopping aboard the mini train, exploring Little Thirsk or simply enjoying a day in the countryside, there’s something for all ages to enjoy.
As a family-run business, our goal has always been simple: to create affordable, fun-filled days out where families can make lasting memories together.
So whether you’re visiting for the first time or you’re one of our regulars, you’ll always be greeted with a warm Yorkshire welcome.
About us – Our Journey of Transformation
Monk Park Farm has come a long way – and we’re just getting started!
In February 2021, Monk Park Farm was bought by new owners, and a full programme of investment and improvements began to breathe new life into the farm.
Ahead of reopening in April 2021, we got to work refurbishing the entrance, toilets, and café, upgrading the outdoor play area, and adding a huge new sandpit – all before welcoming our first visitors!
Later that year, we introduced electric karts and held our very first Halloween Spooktacular – which quickly became a seasonal favourite.
In 2022, we extended the Petting Barn, launched a brand new kids’ mini train ride, added not one but two giant air bouncers, and gave our pond-side picnic area a full refresh. We also worked hard to make our paths more pram and wheelchair friendly, and proudly hosted our first ever Christmas Experience.
In 2023, we kept the fun coming with the launch of Pig Racing and our hugely popular Foam Parties – both massive hits with families!
The improvements continued in 2024, with new all-weather paths through the Woodland Walk and ramp access added to both the café and shop. We also introduced one of our most-loved experiences to date – Pig Snuggling, giving visitors the chance to get up close and cosy with our friendly micro pigs.
In 2025 we continued to grow! We opened 42 Wallaby Way, our immersive wallaby walkthrough, alongside a brand-new animal barn and a much-needed toilet block – all designed to make your visit even more enjoyable.
In 2026, Monk Park Farm reached some of its biggest milestones yet. We successfully secured both our Zoo Licence and Premises Licence, recognising the high standards of animal welfare, education and visitor experience that we’ve worked so hard to achieve.
This year also saw the opening of Little Thirsk, our exciting indoor role-play village designed to inspire imagination and creativity in younger visitors. Packed with miniature shops, businesses and interactive play spaces, it has quickly become one of the farm’s most popular attractions.
We also transformed our food and drink offering with the launch of our new Food Court, creating a dedicated space where families can relax, refuel and enjoy a wider choice of food and refreshments during their visit.
Alongside these major developments, we continued to expand our programme of animal experiences, seasonal events and educational activities, helping more families than ever before connect with animals, nature and each other.
As we look to the future, our commitment remains the same: to keep investing in the farm, creating new experiences and making every visit even better than the last. The journey is far from over, and we can’t wait to share what’s coming next.
