Audio Description Coming Soon

Saddleback pigs are native to East Anglia and are a combination of two similar breeds.

The breed was created in 1967 and are identifiable by their black colour with a white saddle around their shoulders.

They have been exported to Nigeria and the Seychelles, where they cope extremely well with the heat with their colouring protectecting them from sunburn.

They are a docile breed with excellent mothering abilities and are pregnant for 3 months, 3 weeks and 3 days.

They are excellent at foraging, often turning lush green grass into muddy fields. They also enjoy fresh fruit and vegetables and pig pellets.

Males are called ‘Boars’, females are ‘Sows’ and their young are called ‘Piglets’.
